The Origins of Modern American Legal History
Abstract
This essay was delivered at a conference at Harvard Law School honoring Morton Horwitz in September, 2008. It will be be published by Harvard University Press in a volume of essays drawn from the conference. The essay identifies the origins of modern American legal history in the legal academy with a series of events that took place at Harvard Law school between 1967 and the mid 1970s.
